Guest Speaker: One Health & Non-Communicable Diseases ​

The Center of Advanced Studies in Health and Technology (CASHT), in collaboration with Riphah International University, IBADAT University, and other esteemed institutions, orchestrated a remarkable National Symposium & Poster Competition on One Health & Non-Communicable Diseases at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad, on December 22, 2022. Distinguished speakers, including Halima S. Qureshi, Founder and Director of Psychologists Hub, was invited to share her insights.

Mrs. Qureshi delivered a compelling talk as a guest speaker, titled “Co-existing Mental Health Conditions and Noncommunicable Diseases,” exploring the intricate connection between mental health and one health.

The presentation extended to risk factors, comorbidities, and multimorbidities of physical and mental health conditions, elucidating their profound impact on individuals. Proposing causal mechanisms and treatment strategies for NCDs and mental health conditions, Mrs. Qureshi provided invaluable insights.

The event concluded with Mrs. Qureshi offering closing remarks and receiving a souvenir from Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rahman, Vice Chancellor of the University of Haripur, who praised the talk.
